CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: SciViD EMERGING SCHOLARS
Inaugural Fall 2025 Pilot Issue
SciViD
The SciViD Emerging Scholars Collection formally invites high-achieving senior high school students and early-stage undergraduates to contribute to our inaugural Fall 2025 Pilot Issue. Headquartered in Brisbane, Australia, and operating globally, SciViD is the world’s first multimedia research platform designed to bridge the gap between traditional secondary education and professional scholarly publishing. This initiative empowers the next generation of researchers to document their discoveries through a pioneering dual-format approach, equipping them with future-ready skills in research literacy, scientific storytelling, and the ethical application of artificial intelligence.
I. WHY PUBLISH WITH SciViD?
-
Verified Academic Recognition (DOI): Every accepted paper is assigned a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via Crossref. This ensures the work is citable, discoverable in global academic databases, and serves as a distinguished "proof of work" for Tier-1 university applications (e.g., Ivy League, Oxbridge) and scholarship portfolios.
-
Dual-Format Mastery: Authors develop a multifaceted professional profile by merging rigorous written methodology with high-fidelity digital communication.
-
Ethical AI Leadership: SciViD provides a structured framework for using AI as a research assistant (e.g., literature discovery, manuscript polishing) while enforcing strict academic integrity through a mandatory AI Use Statement.
-
Digital Library Integration: Contributions are hosted in the SciViD Digital Library, ensuring lifetime digital visibility and accessibility to a global network of scientists and educators.
II. ELIGIBILITY AND AUTHORSHIP
-
Who Can Submit: Senior High School Students (Grades 10–12 or equivalent) and early-stage Undergraduate Students (Years 1–2).
-
Team Structure: Submissions may be authored individually or by collaborative teams of up to four members.
-
Mentor Endorsement: Every submission must be endorsed by a teacher or academic mentor who verifies ethical compliance, scientific accuracy, and original authorship.
III. MANUSCRIPT CATEGORIES & SCOPE
We welcome original inquiry, inventive problem-solving, and comprehensive synthesis across STEM, engineering, and the natural sciences:
-
Original Research Papers: Reports on physical, chemical, or biological investigations, field studies, or engineering projects featuring original data and verifiable results.
-
Computational Modeling & Simulations: Research utilizing numerical analysis (MATLAB, Python, COMSOL, etc.) or AI-driven predictions.
-
Technical Notes & Demonstrations: Step-by-step visualizations of laboratory protocols, coding solutions, microfluidic systems, or hardware prototype architecture.
-
Concise Reviews: Synthesized, high-level analytical reviews of emerging or interdisciplinary STEM topics, articulating current understanding and future perspectives.
-
Hypothesis & Thought Papers: Reasoned theoretical explorations or preliminary concept models designed to stimulate scientific dialogue.
IV. THE DUAL-FORMAT SUBMISSION STRUCTURE
To maximize impact, clarity, and reproducibility, all submissions must include:
1. The Structured Manuscript (1,000–1,500 words)
-
Title Page: Title, authors’ names, contact details, and institutional affiliation.
-
Structured Abstract (150 words max): Summarizing objectives, methods, and key findings.
-
Main Body: Introduction, Methods/Synthesis Approach, Results, and Discussion.
-
References: Formatted according to APA or MLA standards.
-
AI Use Statement: A detailed disclosure of all generative AI tools employed during research or production.
2. The Video Paper (3–5 minutes)
-
A high-fidelity, narrated video presentation that visually enhances the written manuscript. This must demonstrate experimental setups, data transitions, animations, lab footage, or screen-recorded simulation dynamics.
V. THE EDITORIAL & MENTORSHIP WORKFLOW
The Pilot Issue utilizes a Mentorship-Driven Review Model to maintain academic rigor while actively supporting early-career growth:
-
Technical Screening: Initial editorial check for formatting, plagiarism, and mandatory permissions.
-
Mentor-Led Review: A collaborative primary evaluation led by the student’s designated institutional mentor using standardized SciViD rubrics.
-
Revision Period: Authors implement formative feedback to refine written and visual content.
-
Editorial Oversight: Final publication decisions are determined by the SciViD Editorial Board (led by PhD-level researchers), focusing on methodological transparency and the clarity of visual evidence.
-
Professional Production: Accepted papers receive professional branding, metadata tagging, and accessibility enhancements (subtitles/transcripts).
-
Global Publication: Final articles are published online in the SciViD Digital Library.
