SciViD: Brain and Creativity

SciViD

SciViD: Brain and Creativity is a collection of video preprints on the scientific, cognitive and creative dimensions of the human brain. It brings together neuroscience, psychology, artificial intelligence and the arts, and invites researchers, educators, clinicians and interdisciplinary scholars to share their work as video papers, animated explanations and interactive models. Items in this collection are preprints: they are checked against a posting checklist (verified references, clear status labels and disclosed AI use), but they are not peer reviewed.

The collection covers the neural basis of creativity, brain–machine interfaces, cognitive enhancement, consciousness studies, neuroplasticity, perception and imagination, language and emotion, neuroaesthetics and creative cognition, as well as brain imaging, non-invasive stimulation and brain-inspired computing. Studies involving human participants must state their ethics approval, items do not give medical advice, and claims about enhancement or stimulation must cite their evidence and separate established findings from hypotheses.

For authors, posting is free. Each item receives a SciViD identifier and a version number and is labeled “Preliminary · Not peer reviewed”; later versions are added with a dated note of changes. Authors who need a DOI can deposit the final version in an open repository such as Zenodo, and the SciViD page then shows both identifiers. SciViD Studio, a separate paid service, can turn a manuscript or a published paper into a narrated video and an interactive virtual lab; the author approves the script and the final version, and any AI-generated voice or footage is disclosed.

For readers and viewers, the collection offers a visual way into how creativity relates to neural circuits, how music and art interact with cognition, and how brain networks change through learning. Because items are not peer reviewed, please treat them as preliminary work and check the cited sources before relying on their results.
